Agreement for establishing scholary exchange and cooperation between UTEM University,

and Lund Institute of Technology at Lund University, Sweden

Preamble:

With the object of promoting cooperation academic education and research between UTEM University and Lund Institute of Technology at Lund University the following agreement is established:

Article 1

The cooperation may concern any field of subject upon which the parties agree. It will include various

activities, such as:

•   Collaborative research, lectures and symposia

•   Exchange of scholars and researchers

•   Exchange of graduate students

•   Exchange of undergraduate students

•   Exchange of information and materials in fields which are of interest to both parties.

Article 2

Implementation of exchange or other kinds of cooperation based on this agreement shall be the concern of the relevant faculties or departaments on a case-by-case basis. A specific plan shall be worked out for each joint activity. This plan shall ensure that appropriate arrangements for studying, working, and for living and maintenance expenses are made before the arrival of faculty member or a student to the host university.

Article 3

Both universities shall seek financing of joint activities from sources available to them.

Article 4

This agreement shall take effect during the academic year 2003 and be valid for an initial period of five years.  During the fourth year renewal for a second five-year-period will considered.

Article 5

This agreement is subject to revisions, renewal and/or cancellation by mutual written consent.

Article 6

This agreement becomes effective upon the dates of signature.

Article 7

This agreement is written in English, in two originals, both of equal validity.
